In just a little over a week, December
16 to be exact, 1080 Hartford Road LLC
will be back in court to answer as to
why terms of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy have
not been met and why the court should
not mandate Chapter 7 liquidation.
According to recent court documents, the
U.S. Trustee would like to give the
Speedbowl up until late May 2011 to file
a reorganization plan. If the judge
allows this it looks like it will be
another year of the current Speedbowl
management running the Waterford
Speedbowl. However if the Judge says
enough is enough he can convert from
chapter 11 to chapter 7 at the hearing
or soon after 12/16 and get this whole
issue over by early 2011. There will
still plenty of time left to get the
track in shape for 2011 with a new owner
or owners.
In the mean time, the Speedbowl
Management has been selling season
passes for both the pit area and
grandstands at substantial savings.
